Big Bold Stripes

This post is dedicated to my best friend Michelle, who loves big bold stripes – especially in black and white.  But who doesn’t love the look of stripes?  The bigger the better, in my opinion.  And the black and white might be my favorite too.  I will never get tired of stripes.  They’re just so classic.

I can’t talk about bold stripes without showing a picture of Miles Redd’s chocolate brown striped living room…

I think my friend Michelle needs one of Ikea’s Stockholm black and white rugs.

A Favorite

This is one of my favorite bedrooms of all time. And I rarely ever like yellow. I think its the touch of green and brown combined with yellow that makes it appealing. Isn’t that fabric the cutest print? It looks like Raoul Textiles (one of my favorite lines, read more here). And those monogrammed pillows? There are no words. And I’m not a huge fan of monogramming (sometimes people take monogramming too far) – but I would take these monogram pillows any day! Also notice the Greek key trim on the bedspread – what’s not to love?

I hope everyone has a fabulous Wednesday!

Chic Chevron

Chevron patterns have been catching my eye lately… In all different forms.  I’m not sure what I’m going to do about it.  I would love a chevron runner in the hallway of my apartment.

A Pop of Animal Print

Every room looks better with a little animal print.  Try to picture the rooms below without the animal print… They just wouldn’t be as fabulous.   It is the perfect finishing touch.

Animal print can also be the finishing touch to an outfit.  This girl would look boring without that coat, wouldn’t she?  :)

Christian Louboutin heels… I must own these one day.

The same is true for this picture:

And last but not least… Someone went a little zebra print crazy in their bedroom :)  I’m not sure if I can handle this much but it sure is a fun room!

ikat, you kat, we kat

I have been seeing ikat everywhere lately.  I’m not sure how I feel about it. It used to be mostly just in fabrics in decorating, kind of like an interior designer’s secret weapon.  Now you can find ikat prints on just about anything – clothing, dinnerware, ipad covers… I have a pair of JCrew ikat shorts that are one of my favorite pieces of clothing.  They no longer carry them so I don’t have a picture, but trust me, they’re cute!!

Anyways, I did a little shopping browsing last weekend and ikat prints were popping up everywhere in all different forms.

I spotted this super cute ikat tie on JCrew’s website.  It’s called the Selvedge Stripe Ikat tie… Would make a great father’s day present!

Ann Taylor LOFT is ALL about the ikat right now…

Ruffle Neck ikat dress

Ikat print Linen Shift dress

and the matching Marisa Ikat pants. LOFT also has ikat shorts in a few different colors.

Ikat picture frames? Yes, please.  These colorful ones are from the Well Appointed House

Or this frame from Textile Republic.  Which comes in lots of other color combinations.

Target has a lot of ikat scarves right now.  Like this Red Ikat Pareo.

I’ve always loved this ikat dinnerware from C Wonder.  Also comes in Chocolate Brown, Coral, and Navy.

Winifred Settee from Anthropologie

Mallory pointed out this green ikat Dhurrie Rug from Shades of Light because she knew I would love it.  It has two of my favorite things: ikat + green = love.

I also discovered these affordable ikat silk pillows on Pinterest.  They’re from a site called Sheherazade Home.  I’ve never heard of it or ordered from them, but they sure are pretty in the pictures!  And great prices too.

Bengal Bizarre

I have been seeing this fabric all over pinterest, the internet, and at ADAC and I love it so much I had to share!  It is one of Kelly Wearstler‘s fabrics from her latest collection, Groundworks, for Lee Jofa.  It is called “Bengal Bizarre” and it comes in nine colorways… Feast your eyes…
