A Master Bedroom Makeover

This bedroom belongs to one of my mom’s good friends in Chattanooga.  I helped give her bedroom a little face lift.  I’ve been meaning to post these pictures for months because it was finished about a year ago… Better late than never!

First I will show you the “AFTER” pictures, then we’ll look at the “BEFORE”.  She wanted the room to be simple with lots of blue.  What do y’all think????  It was basically my first design makeover on my own :)

In case you can’t tell, the “AFTER” pictures were taken on my mom’s fancy camera; the “BEFORE” pictures were taken on my iPhone.

AFTER

Newly painted walls, gold leaf sunburst mirror and custom pillow shams.

We found these small wooden tables and gold men framed artwork in her attic or around her house…

Reupholstered this club chair in some pretty blue velvet.  Ottoman was custom made by an upholsterer here in Atlanta.

We had this pretty day bed reupholstered in the blue checked fabric that matches her pillow shams and bedskirt.  The fabric is Schumacher’s Camden cotton check.  My client hung the gallery wall herself.

Trendy Tuesday

I’m so glad Monday is over.  I’m already looking forward to the weekend (I’m hosting my friends at my parents cabin again!).  Mallory Mathison Inc. seems to be very busy, as usual; and I am thankful, as usual :)…   But I’m still an advocate of a 4 day work week!

These are just some pretty pictures that I had to share.  I discovered them in various places in the blogging/social media world.   There’s no common thread here except that I love them and had to share them with you lucky people!

The Best Feelings in the World.  I would have to agree with most of these.  Especially the “crawling into bed after a long day”.

For some reason I looove this house.

Love the fabric on this wing chair.  Not sure of the source though.

Favorite chandeliers lately…

For a while now I’ve considered these chandeliers my favorites. They are awesome. I don’t know what it is about this look (they all look very similar). I love them in Antique Brass, but I’ll take any finish, really. They are all manufactured by Visual Comfort and available through Circa Lighting or Mallory Mathison Inc. :)

Dauphine 4-Light Chandelier in Gilded Iron finish. So simple but so pretty! I usually don’t consider my taste to be modern.

Also available: Dauphine 8-light chandelier. Also available in Aged Iron.

Bryant Small Chandelier in Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass. This one is designed by Thomas O’Brien. The same designer who designed my beloved Hicks Pendant. Swoon.

The Bryant is also available in a larger size and a Bronze finish.

And possibly my favorite chandelier… the Vendome chandelier. Ahhh I love how feminine it is! Below is the small size in Antique Brass. It is also designed by Thomas O’Brien. I think he is my lighting god!?! I mean he is nailing it with his light fixture designs!

However, I’m not as big of a fan of the larger size Vendome

And finally, my favorite little bitty chandelier. The Reed chandelier. I know you probably think these all look exactly alike. Well they do. But they ARE different :)

How cute is Reed?!

Good thing I don’t really have anywhere to put a chandelier… How would I chose!?!

I’m pretty sure these were made for me…

If you missed the post where I confessed my undying love for green, this post is sort of an extension.  I’m in need of a new pair of lamps so my lamp radar is turned up high right now.  My green radar is always turned up high. Therefore, ever since I laid eyes on these lamps I haven’t been able to think about much else.  I want them, I need them…
