Highlights from a busy week

This week has been super busy at Mallory Mathison Inc., as usual.   “Design ADAC” has been going on this week and I was lucky enough to attend two different presentations by some of my favorite designers.  On Wednesday, I saw Miles Redd for the fourth time in my life.  I’ll never get tired of hearing him speak and seeing his work.  Y’all are already fully aware of my love and appreciation of Miles and his designs so we’ll focus on some other designers for once…

This morning (Thursday morning), I got to hear Mary McDonald and Martyn Lawrence Bullard talk about “Building Your Brand as an Interior Designer”.  It was one of the most entertaining presentations I’ve been to at ADAC.  If you’re not familiar with the Bravo show Million Dollar Decorators, you’re really missing out.  Anyway, Mary and Martyn were hilarious and down to earth.  I loved every minute of seeing them.

A look at some of the fabrics from Mary McDonald’s latest collection for Schumacher.  I would love to see some of them in my apartment. What do y’all think?  So chic!

Naturally, the green colorways are my favorite :)

Picture this… the cutest nursery

It seems like so many people are getting pregnant at the exact same time… now.  We’re literally working on three different nurseries at the moment.  But I had to share with you the scheme for the cutest nursery ever.

Elephants + blue & white + kelly green accents = ADORABLENESS

Starting with Lulu DK for Schumacher “Parade” fabric

Add lots and LOTS of Brunschwig & Fils’ “Les Touches” in Blue

An accent wall featuring a blue and white trellis wallpaper… Probably one of these adorable Thibaut designs…

The amazing Madeline Weinrib’s Ziggy chevron rug in what color?  You guessed it, BLUE.

Then top it off with (my favorite part, of course) Kelly Green accents like this Shades of Light bamboo floor lamp

It’s a boy!  In case you were wondering ;)

Yesterday, I went to a luncheon Ainsworth-Noah to check out Hodsoll McKenzie new collection of fabrics, “Lineage”.  Not only was the food delicious, the fabrics were pretty too!   Here is a taste of what I saw…

My favorite fabric was definitely the one on the windows above, “Foster Damask”.  It is made of Jute and comes in several different colors.

All of the upholstery fabrics were chenilles, which surprised me.  I guess chenille is making a comeback.

Hodsoll McKenzie isn’t usually so colorful.  But I loved seeing a little more color than usual in this collection – like the indigo blue fabrics above.

You can check out more about the fabrics on Zimmer + Rohde’s website.
