Weekend Pretties

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.  I live for the weekends :)

Here are some chic pictures that have nothing to do with one another, but I had to share…

I’ve told y’all before that I love twin beds.  Symmetry always catches my eye so a twin bedroom is the best opportunity to have lots and lots of symmetry.  What about THREE twin beds?  Love it three times as much… Not to mention how precious is this bedroom designed by Cathy Kincaid… i.e. bedspreads, beams, benches – did not even mean to use alliteration there :)

So many chic things going on in this picture below… Peacock blue door with Brass nailheads… Grasscloth on the walls… Is that a light blue painted ceiling?  I wish we could see what was beyond that door:  a chevron rug and hand painted wallpaper perhaps?

Sometimes I see a room like this and think “oh my gosh this is the cutest room ever – I love color!”…

And then ten minutes later I see this room and think “what?  I hate color!  Color is bad.  Always stick to neutrals”…

In conclusion, I am completely indecisive about what I want, but I can tell other people exactly what they want… Good thing I haven’t started designing my dream house yet!

Perfection in a front door…

This picture deserves a post of it’s own.  Shingle siding makes me weak in the knees.  And those planters with the round boxwoods… Ahhh.  I love the gray paint color, white shutters, stone pavers.  Not sure who is going to sit in those random klismos chairs, but I’ll take them!  Source unknown, found on Pinterest.

Arched

In architecture, there is something about an arch that catches the eye.  An arched door or window is so much more interesting than just a plain rectangular window or door.  Don’t you agree?

There are countless houses in Atlanta with arched doors and windows.  When I go running around here, I love looking at the architectural details of the houses.  It makes running so much more enjoyable when you have pretty architecture to look at.  Running on the treadmill is so boring!

I especially love the repetition of the arch shape.  Let’s take a look at some great examples of the classic round arch…
