Wine Time

On Saturday, ten friends and I hired a driver to take us to spend the day at a few wineries in north Georgia, near Dahlonega.  It was so much fun and I highly recommend it to anyone who is in the area and likes wine.  We went to Frogtown Cellars, Three Sisters Vineyards, and Wolf Mountain Vineyards.  I can’t wait to go back in the Spring or Summer when the vines are growing grapes.  These pictures are not from the vineyards so check out the websites to see/learn more…

Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m headed to Selma, Alabama to spend Thanksgiving in the beautiful Summerfield house with my entire extended family.  I will try to take some pics while I’m there.  Until then, here are some pictures to get us in the Thanksgiving mood…

Bars Carts and Booze

We’re getting closer to the holiday season so I thought now would be a good time for a little bar inspiration for those holiday parties you might be hosting.  In my opinion, the bar is one of the most important aspects of a party – maybe even THE most important.  I’m just being honest.  One of the first things most people do when they walk in the door is find the bar and drink a cocktail. At least that is the case for all of the parties that I attend :)  So here are a couple of yummy holiday cocktails I found on pinterest.  And then some fun pictures.

First up:  Peppermint Eggnog Punch.  How delicious does this look?  Ice cream is by far one of my favorite foods (if not my absolute favorite). I could eat ice cream any time of year – even in the freezing cold.  And I love anything mint flavored.  Combine those two things and I’m happy… and drunk ;)

Next we have the Dirty Girl Scout.  Once again, I have a weakness for anything mint flavored. I love kahlua (in moderation, of course).  [source]

Kickoff

I’m bracing myself for a crowded/fun weekend in Atlanta.  Between labor day weekend traffic, hurricane Isaac, Braves games, and two big kickoff college football games, this weekend is going to be chaotic.  But I’m SO excited for football AND a three day weekend!

I have a couple of friends coming to stay with me — maybe I should make them some beergaritas?

They would be so lucky! :)

Cheers.

And most importantly… ROLL TIDE!

Goal for the weekend: to not melt

The temperature in Atlanta is expected to be around 107 degrees this weekend… Shoot me now.  I am miserable in hot weather.  I literally melt.  I love the sun but not when it feels like I’m on fire.  You can find me inside in the air conditioning all weekend long.  Although I wish I could be enjoying the great outdoors.  What I wouldn’t give for a pool in my backyard to just sit in allll dayyy loooong.   But a pool might just feel like a hot tub in these scorching temperatures.  If I ever have a pool, I’ll be sure to look at these pictures as inspiration…

And I’ll be drinking one (or like four) of these to forget about how insanely hot it is:
