Trying to stay calm while still unpacking my life. Yep, my living room and bedroom still have boxes and bags in the corners. Looking back on this beach sunset might help me fall asleep tonight. Namaste.
I have always loved this hallway. I can’t remember where I found the picture anyone know knows feel free to help me out). Words can’t describe the way it makes me feel. Actually, words can describe the way it makes me feel; but I’ll be honest: it’s Friday night and I don’t feel like writing about my feelings so I thought I would just post one of the amazing pictures I’ve had saved on my iPad for forever. But seriously, this is one of my top five favorite interior design pictures – no lie. Those gorgeous lacquered walls and ARCHED CEILING. Peach? When have I ever liked a pale pink / peach color?! Well here ya go. And that rug. Love the casualness of it — not to mention that large scale pattern. And those brass light fixtures? Yes, please. That’s all for now.
Have a wonderful weekend!
I think I’ve mentioned in a previous post that my new obsession is this Galbraith & Paul wallpaper:
It is called “Lotus” and the colorway pictured above is Aqua. I adore it. But this pattern is not the only chic pattern that I love from Galbraith & Paul…
“Birds” is adorable too!! And these patterns come in multiple colorways! Color Sage is pictured above and color Ocean is below – and that’s just 2 of the 10 colorways. How cute?! How could I ever choose????
Did I mention that they come in fabrics too? Ugh, I better start saving $$$!!! Or else I’ll just drool over these pictures until something else steals my heart away.
Yep, that is Lotus in Pink and Orange (“Tangerine”). Now where do I get the dress to match?
How perfect are these colors for summer???

My 88 year old great aunt got her first pedicure at the beach this week. It was an exciting and entertaining event! I think she liked the massage chair better than the pedicure… Here’s how it went:
Getting in the chair…
“What do all these buttons do? I didn’t know I was getting a massage too!”
She picked a pretty color :)
My very good friend, Eleanor Anne, works for an awesome non profit called Camp Happy Days. I am happy to help her spread the word about voting for them in Charleston Magazine’s 2012 Giving Back Awards for Non Profit of the Year. Here is some info on what we can do to help from Eleanor Anne:
Camp Happy Days is a non-profit organization that offers support to South Carolina’s children with cancer and their families by providing year-round programs, special events, emotional support and access to financial resources. Our goal is to give hope, self-esteem and the will to fight one more round to children with cancer.
At Camp Happy Days, we believe that every child battling cancer in South Carolina should have an opportunity to benefit from a summer camp experience and other life-changing programs regardless of family income or economic status. Every program we offer is free to the families we serve.
What cancer takes away, Camp Happy Days gives back – lots of smiles, laughter and the pure carefree joy of being a kid. It is our goal to create powerful, life-changing experiences that helps children fighting cancer live their dreams, realize their potential, to overcome adversity and discover a renewed sense of pride and self-confidence.
Camp Happy Days has been nominated for the 2012 Giving Back Awards for the Non-Profit of the Year Award, presented by Charleston Magazine. Please visit http://www.charlestonmag.com/givingback/votenow and select Camp Happy Days as your non-profit! Click here.
How it works:
Eighty-eight nonprofit organizations in Charleston, Berkeley, Beaufort, Colleton, and Dorchester counties were nominated and it’s time to vote!
The first voting round runs from Monday, July 16-Friday, July 20, 2012, after which the top 50 nonprofits will advance to the next voting round. Individuals may vote one time per day for his or her favorite organization.
The second voting round runs from Monday, July 23-Friday, July 27, 2012, after which the top 25 nonprofits will move on to the semifinals.
The semifinal voting round runs from Monday, July 30-Friday, August 3, 2012, after which the top five finalists will be announced.
Each of the five finalists will be profiled in the November 2012 issue of Charleston magazine and presented at the Giving Back Awards show in November, when a live text vote will determine the winner of this category.
Camp Happy Days was one of the five finalists and we would love to be featured in Charleston Magazine again…and even win!
So vote now, vote often, and help spread the word, encouraging everyone to vote for Camp Happy Days and help kids kickin’ cancer!
I got a fiddle leaf fig tree! For those of you who don’t know, I’ve been wanting one for a very long time. My tree was already about two and a half feet tall when I got it last week so it is just a miniature version of what you see in this picture. I would have taken a picture of MY tree but I am in the process of packing to move to a new apartment right when I get back from the beach so my room is full of boxes and stuff. But I will be sure to post a pic once I get situated – I haven’t even gotten a planter for it yet. I’m so excited! :) Thank you, Mallory and Monteigne!
I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Countdown to spending a whole week at the beach: 4 days!!! And I cannot wait. I used to think that living far away from the beach was a good thing because it made beach vacations more special. Not anymore. Now I’m convinced I would be perfectly fine living near the beach. I would never take it for granted. Maybe one day I’ll make this dream a reality.

Of course I would have these Graham & Green chairs in my breakfast room:
Or else I would have some bistro chairs like the ones in this dining area designed by Ashley Whitaker:
I love the pendants in the kitchen below…
But we all know I can’t resist my beloved Hicks pendants:
I would put these adorable Vineyard Striped Rugs from Ballard Designs in the hallways on hardwood floors…
A beach house isn’t complete without an outdoor shower. How awesome is this one?
I love this driftwood lamp for a beach house — not sure where its from though.
Orkney chairs are very beachy in my opinion, of course my dream beach house has at least one…
I would probably go with this AMAZING Lotus wallpaper by Galbraith & Paul in one of the bathrooms… Seriously, this wallpaper is like my new favorite thing EVER.
Another outdoor shower inspiration (I think I like the other one better though). Via Lonny
